Moroccan Police Bust International Drug Ring, Seize Half-Ton of Hashish

Two individuals were arrested on Friday by the judicial police elements of Oujda. They would be involved in an international drug trafficking network.
The arrest of these two individuals was no easy task for the police, who used strategies to achieve it. The first suspect was apprehended in the "Gzennay" douar in Bni Drar. The police then conducted searches in a warehouse, which led to the seizure of 20 drug packages, weighing an estimated half ton of chira. Two cars were also discovered, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The second suspect was arrested in Berkane, for his alleged involvement in the commission of several criminal acts. His arrest was made possible thanks to a thorough investigation by the police.
The two accused were taken into custody, pending the investigation to determine their possible links with international drug trafficking networks. The police hope to disable all accomplices and perpetrators involved in these criminal acts.
This case is part of the joint operations of the DGSN and DGST services to fight international drug and psychotropic trafficking, the same source reveals.
