Moroccan Runner Jawad Kallouz Sets New Record at Fez International Marathon

The fifth edition of the Fez international marathon, held on Sunday, saw the victory of Jawad Kallouz. The Moroccan athlete won the 42 km distance, in this international competition that saw the participation of Moroccan and foreign runners.
He is now the "record holder" of the Fez international marathon. Indeed, by achieving a time of 2 h 15 min 32 sec., Jawad Kallouz wins the new record of this international competition, reports the MAP.
The podium at the finish of this marathon is Moroccan. In second place is Khalil Lamciyeh, while in third place is Mohamed Chaaboud, both having run the same distance in 2 h 17 min 26 sec. and 2 h 18 min 28 sec. respectively. As for the women, Morocco also takes the first two places thanks to the performances of the athletes, Naima El Ayadi, 3 h 10 min 58 sec., and Hayat Ahammich, 3 h 13 min 16 sec.), while the third place went to the American, Laura Bergmann, 3 h 24 min 27 sec.).
In total, about thirty countries took part in this sporting event which, according to Abdellah Lakhder, director of the marathon, aims in particular to promote sports practice at the regional level and to strengthen the tourist dynamics of the spiritual capital.
