Moroccan Runner Shatters Sofia Marathon Record in Pandemic-Era Race

Moroccan athlete Youssef Sbaai won the 37th edition of the Sofia Marathon on Sunday.
The Moroccan broke the marathon record in 2h 13 min 03 sec. Youssef Sbaai covered the 42.21 km of the event at the same time as his compatriot Redouane Nouini, before being declared the winner of the marathon by the photo-finish technology.
For this edition maintained despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 2,700 people had taken part in the competition.
