Moroccan Runner Shatters Dublin Marathon Record as Event Hits New Participation High

The 40th edition of the Dublin Marathon, launched for the first time in 1979, was won by the Moroccan athlete, El Goumri, with a time of 2:08:04, on Sunday, October 27, 2019.
The Moroccan beat the Irishman Stephen Scullion, who clocked 2:12:01. As for Patrick Monahan, he wins the wheelchair title with a time of 1:39:50. On the women’s side, Et Moth Gedefa wins with a time of 2:27:48.
This year, the number of athletes also reached a record, reaching 22,500 participants compared to only 1,200 in 1980.
