Moroccan Restaurant Shut Down After Worms Found in Tajine Dish

The authorities in Azilal have closed a restaurant following a complaint filed by customers who claimed to have discovered earthworms in a tajine that was served to them. The owner of the establishment risks a lot.
On the web, the dissemination of a video showing several small earthworms inside pieces of meat served in a tajine in a restaurant located at the level of the Ouzoud waterfalls valley in the Azilal region has provoked many reactions from Internet users. The latter called for the closure of the business. Subsequently, the couple to whom the dish was served filed a complaint against the restaurant. After inspection, the royal gendarmerie of the Azilal region closed the restaurant for serious breaches of health regulations.
In a video posted on social networks, the manager of this restaurant, which is over 40 years old, tried to defend his business. He assured that his restaurant respects the strictest food safety standards and that it uses fresh ingredients to prepare its dishes in the most hygienic conditions. He also accused the couple of having brought the spoiled meat with them in order to ruin the great reputation of his restaurant.
These accusations would be unfounded. According to a source, the restaurant owner will be brought before the public prosecutor next week and will be prosecuted at liberty, reports Alyaoum24.
