Restaurant Owner Jailed for Serving Worm-Infested Tagine Near Popular Tourist Site

The restaurateur flagged in the province of Azilal, for having served his customers "infested with worms" food, will finally be prosecuted while in custody. This is the decision of the court of first instance of the city.
In the video widely shared on social media, this owner of the restaurant located near the Ouzoud Falls appears to be serving a "infested with worms" tagine to customers, reports Al Ayaoum 24, which specifies that he was denounced by customers for serving food that he knew was "unfit for consumption or toxic".
The man was arrested and presented to the prosecutor. He was found guilty of "possession of materials intended for human consumption which he knew were unfit or toxic, of offering food products that pose a danger to human health, and of transporting foodstuffs intended for human consumption under unsanitary conditions," the same source said.
Pending trial, the restaurant has been closed by the authorities of the province of Azilal, following an investigation into this case that has sparked the outrage of many Moroccans on social media.
