Fez Restaurant Raid Sparks Controversy Over Name and Public Space Use

The authorities carried out a raid last week on the restaurant "Michwate Zaouja Tanya" (the grill of the second wife), based in Fez, to remind the promoters to respect the laws in force regarding pergolas and terraces, as they are illegally occupying a large part of the public domain.
The owner of the restaurant, suspected of promoting polygamy, was asked to respect the laws in force regarding pergolas and terraces. Several YouTubers and media outlets mobilized to cover the authorities’ intervention, according to L’Économiste.
On the other hand, the owner of the premises is said to have also prepared his staff to make "very virulent" statements to the press, such as: "Where will we go if you jeopardize the business of our restaurant? We will simply go steal and attack citizens."
