Moroccan Rapper 7liwa Detained at Anti-Vaccine Pass Protest in Rabat
The controversial rapper Ihab Iqbal, known as 7liwa, was in Rabat on Sunday to participate in the demonstrations against the vaccine pass. The artist was arrested by the police for several hours before being released.
According to several witnesses present on the spot, police officers arrested Hliwa and his manager as they were participating with other personalities in the demonstration. Taken to the Rabat police station, they were questioned for several hours before being released.
The rapper has, on several occasions, on his social media accounts, expressed his opposition to the mandatory vaccination and the health pass now required in public places.
For the second consecutive week, thousands of people demonstrated against the vaccine pass, notably in Casablanca, Tangier, Kelaat Sraghna, Rabat and many others. These demonstrations were very closely monitored by the security forces.
