Moroccan Prodigy Shines in Youth Tournament After Choosing Atlas Lions Over Spain

Salim El Jebari scored a superb goal for Morocco in the match against Côte d’Ivoire as part of the Maurice Revello Tournament for under-20s. A good start for the young player who recently joined the Atlas Lions and that Spain will surely regret.
Salim El Jebari was called up by Morocco for the Maurice Revello Tournament. The young striker scored a beautiful goal against Côte d’Ivoire (1-0) on June 10 in the group stage. He won the award for the most beautiful goal of the tournament, even though the Lionceaux of the Atlas were eliminated by Panama in the quarter-finals of the competition, reports Mundo Deportivo.
El Jebari chose to play for the Moroccan national team in February, after declining the offer from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) who had called him up for friendly preparation matches for the Under-19 Elite Round.
The young player plays for Atlético de Madrid, a club he has signed with until 2025. In 2021, he had an exceptional season with 11 goals scored with Atlético B under the orders of Luis García Tevenet. But this season, he has not shone much under the orders of Fernando Torres.
