Morocco’s Ezzalzouli Shines at U23 Africa Cup with 3 Goals, 2 Assists

Abdessamad Ezzalzouli is doing wonders at the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco. The 21-year-old winger has scored three goals and provided two assists in two games.
After a good season on loan at Osasuna, Abde Ezzalzouli continues to shine with the Moroccan under-23 team participating in the cup of this category. As captain of the Lionceaux de l’Atlas, the 21-year-old player was one of the main architects of Morocco’s crushing victory over Ghana (5-1) on Tuesday. The Barcelona winger scored a goal and provided two assists in this match, contributing to the second victory of the Moroccan team in this tournament, reports AS.
Abde Ezzalzouli scored the two goals in the opening match of the competition against Guinea (2-1). In two games, the young player already has three goals and two assists. With this performance, Morocco has a chance to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics, after its historic run at the World Cup in Qatar where it reached the semi-finals. Morocco has not participated in the Olympics since London.
This season, the Barcelona winger has already played 41 matches, including 34 with Osasuna and seven with the Catalan club. "In my heart, I wanted to play this cup," said the player whose future is uncertain at Camp Nou. For now, he has been called up by Xavi Hernandez for the pre-season which starts on July 10. But aware that he will not have much playing time next season, the striker is considering leaving. Several clubs in La Liga and the Premier League are interested in him.
