Barcelona’s Abde Ezzalzouli Emerges as Dembélé Replacement After Strong Getafe Performance
Abdessamad Ezzalzouli should no longer change clubs. With the departure of Ousmane Dembélé to PSG, the Moroccan striker has a chance to continue his career in the Barça first team.
Barring any changes, Abde Ezzalzouli will continue with Barça next season. The technical staff of the Catalan club sees in the Moroccan striker the ideal profile to replace Ousmane Dembélé who has joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), reports Sport.es.
Coach Xavi Hernandez tested the player’s performance in the match against Getafe. Entering in the second half to replace Christensen, Abde Ezzalzouli created many opportunities for the Blaugrana, diminished after the expulsion of Raphinha in the first half. The young player thus showed that he deserves a place in the first team and that he can contribute a lot to the attack during the next season.
The Moroccan striker had a remarkable season on loan at Osasuna. Despite his great form, he doubted his future at Barça, aware that he would not have playing time. But his exceptional profile, added to Ousmane Dembélé’s departure, finally convinced Xavi that he is the player he needs to strengthen the Barcelona attack.
Several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Ezzalzouli, who also declined an attractive offer from Betis. The Moroccan striker wanted to continue with Barça. A dream that is becoming a reality.
