Barcelona Owes Osasuna $550,000 from Ezzalzouli’s Transfer to Betis

Barcelona will have to pay Osasuna more than half a million euros, or 10% of the 5.5 million euro capital gain obtained from the transfer of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to Betis this summer.
The Moroccan-origin striker arrived at Barcelona in 2021 from Hércules for two million euros. A year later, he was loaned without a purchase option to Osasuna for a season. The young player has left his mark on the Navarrese team, which had also tried to extend his loan for another year, but Barça was not in favor of this option. Osasuna therefore decided to reserve 10% of the future sale of Ezzalzouli by Barça.
This summer, Betis paid Barça 7.5 million euros to secure the services of the Moroccan winger. Barça made a capital gain of 5.5 million euros on this operation and will therefore have to pay 550,000 euros to Osasuna, reports Diario de Navarra cited by Ok Diario, recalling that the Navarrese club had also tried to buy Ezzalzouli during this summer transfer window for 3 million euros. Barça was not planning to sell the young player this season, but ultimately accepted Betis’ offer at the last minute.
At Betis, Abde Ezzalzouli is gradually becoming part of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans. Since his arrival, the Moroccan has already played six games, three of them as a starter, and scored one goal. In competition with Assane Diao in attack, Ezzalzouli does not have enough playing time, at least not as much as he would have liked.
