Barcelona’s Abdessamad Ezzalzouli Joins Real Betis After Atlético Madrid Deal Falls Through
Abdessamad Ezzalzouli joined Betis in the final hours of the summer transfer window. The former Moroccan prodigy of Barça narrowly missed joining Atlético Madrid’s team.
Barça wanted to take advantage of Abde’s sale and decided to put the Moroccan striker on the transfer market during the month of August. The Catalan club was ready to sell the young player to the highest bidder. And the offers did not lack. Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa had expressed interest in Abde, but the Moroccan winger was not interested, recalls Sport.es.
Barça was about to reach an agreement with Atlético Madrid, but Abde ultimately chose Betis, who had made a loan offer with a purchase option, which did not suit Barça. After negotiations, the two clubs finally reached an agreement, just hours before the transfer window closed.
