Atlético Madrid Prospect Salim El Jebari Opts to Represent Morocco Over Spain

Salim El Jebari, the Moroccan gem of Atlético, has informed the Spanish Football Federation of his choice to play for Morocco. The young player, called up by José Lana for the two friendly matches against the Norwegian U19 team this week, had to be replaced by his teammate Adrián Niño.
Salim El Jebari played six matches with the Spanish U18 national team in 2022, where he scored a goal and provided an assist. Now, the midfielder of Moroccan origin has chosen to defend the Moroccan colors and has already made it known to the Spanish Football Federation, reports Marca.
The Spanish Federation has taken note of the young player’s decision. Before him, several Spanish players of Moroccan origin have chosen to join the Atlas Lions, as is the case with Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, one of the great promises of FC Barcelona, currently on loan to Osasuna.
