Moroccan Police Seize 5.8 Tons of Cannabis in Major Drug Trafficking Bust

The judicial police of Casablanca thwarted, on Monday evening, an attempt at international drug trafficking and seized a large quantity of cannabis resin.
5.82 tons of cannabis resin, this is the harvest of this operation carried out by the elements of the anti-gang brigade of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Casablanca, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
Intervening on the road section connecting Casablanca to Bouznika, this attempt at international drug trafficking resulted in the arrest of six individuals for their alleged links with a criminal network active in international drug trafficking by sea, indicates the DGSN in a press release.
The drugs were found on board two utility vehicles, in addition to two passenger cars that would have been used in this criminal activity, it is specified.
The accused were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to identify any ramifications of this criminal activity, and to arrest all accomplices, the statement concludes.
