Moroccan Police Seize 3 Tons of Cannabis in Major Drug Trafficking Bust

The judicial police of Agadir thwarted an attempt to internationally traffic 3 tons of cannabis and arrested an individual for his alleged links with a criminal network active in the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The arrest of the suspect took place during a roadside check in Oulad Berhil, near Taroudant, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), which states that the seized drugs were stored in bales in the utility vehicle intercepted.
The searches also led to the seizure of an inflatable boat, with two outboard motors, the note added, specifying that the 37-year-old individual was wanted nationally for cases of international drug trafficking.
The person in question was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the possible ramifications of this drug network, concludes the DGSN.
