Casablanca Police Bust International Drug Ring, Seize 260 kg of Hashish

The Casablanca police arrested, on Friday, six individuals, including two with criminal records, for their alleged links to a criminal network active in international drug trafficking. They are between 19 and 46 years old.
The operation took place in several phases in the outskirts of the city of Casablanca. First, two suspects were arrested in the Sidi Bernoussi district, as part of the investigation conducted by the police following the seizure of chira tablets, prepared as samples for potential customers, a statement from the DGSN said.
A second security operation in the "Deroua" area resulted in the arrest of another suspect in possession of 8 bales weighing a total of 260 kilograms of chira intended for international trafficking.
As part of the continued investigation, a subsequent security operation led to the arrest of the other suspects on board a four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle in the "Oulad Ziane" area, in the center of the city, for their alleged involvement in the participation in the trafficking of this drug shipment, according to the statement.
The search operations carried out at the suspects’ homes also led to the seizure of payment cards and bank documents, in addition to 200,000 dirhams suspected to be the proceeds of this criminal activity.
The suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the possible ramifications of this criminal activity and all the acts attributed to the suspects, concludes the DGSN.
