Moroccan Police Seize Half-Ton of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust

Two people arrested and half a ton of cannabis resin (chira) seized on Thursday. This is the result of an operation carried out jointly by the judicial police of Errachidia and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
According to information provided by the police, a large quantity of chira packaged in 20 packages was seized at the home of the first suspect. It was in the Ahfira region, 200 kilometers from Errachidia. It was after this that the main suspect in this case of drug possession and trafficking was arrested in the neighboring region of Ikhf n’Ighir, said the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
The main suspect was the subject of a nationwide search warrant. He would be involved in several other criminal acts.
The suspects, aged 28 and 41, were taken into custody. An investigation is underway to determine any ramifications of this criminal activity and to identify any possible accomplices, the DGSN concludes.
