Massive Drug Bust: Nearly 2 Tons of Cannabis Seized Near Agadir, Morocco

The prefectural service of the judicial police of Agadir proceeded, on Tuesday, December 24, to the seizure of one ton and 770 kilograms of cannabis resin (chira) on board a refrigerated truck. This, thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
This joint security operation, carried out in the Tikiouine region, near Agadir, allowed the seizure of the truck loaded with drugs, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release. Similarly, the judicial police elements arrested the driver of the truck and his companion.
After verifying their identities, it turned out that one of the two arrested individuals has a criminal record, the same source said.
Pending the identification of any other individuals who may be involved in this case, and the determination of its ramifications and potential links with international criminal drug and psychotropic networks, the two suspects, aged 44 and 28, were taken into custody.
