Moroccan Police Seize 22.8 kg of Cocaine in Tanger Med Port Smuggling Bust

The judicial police elements of the port of Tanger Med thwarted on Thursday an attempt to traffic 22.8 kilograms of cocaine hidden on board a truck of international transport registered in Morocco.
This large quantity of cocaine, which came from a Spanish port, was hidden in a load of household equipment. It was found during routine control operations, according to the DGSN in a statement.
According to the same source, the truck driver, aged 26, was arrested and taken into custody for investigation by the prefectural judicial police service of Tangier under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The aim will be to determine the possible ramifications at the national and international levels of this cross-border criminal activity.
