Moroccan Police Seize 700 kg of Cannabis in Beach Drug Bust

A traffic of 700 kilograms of cannabis resin from the beach of Assilah was thwarted by elements of the local brigade of the Judicial Police attached to the police station of the city of Asilah, on Friday, August 30, 2019, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The utility vehicle used to transport this quantity of drugs had been intercepted and searched near the beach by the Security elements, reports the MAP. They confiscated the drugs as well as five mobile phones. The 19-year-old suspect is suspected of having links with a criminal network active in the international drug trafficking by sea.
He was taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation in order to elucidate the circumstances of this case. However, the search to arrest all individuals involved in these criminal acts continues, concludes the same source.
