Agadir Police Pursue Suspected International Drug Traffickers in High-Speed Chase

Information from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) allowed the Prefectural Judicial Police Service of Agadir to arrest an individual suspected of being linked to an international drug trafficking network.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), drivers of three cars refused to comply with the orders of the police elements during a routine traffic control operation.
Fleeing, the three individuals fired shots at the police, causing significant material damage along the peripheral axis. According to the statement, the cars were suspected of transporting a large quantity of cannabis resin (chira).
A large-scale search operation, in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie, made it possible to intercept two of the cars with false license plates (see photos), and to seize more than two tons of cannabis resin as well as the firearm used by the suspects.
An investigation has been opened by the Judicial Police services, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the circumstances of this case, as well as the ramifications of the network at the international level.
