International Drug Ring Busted: 555 kg of Cannabis Seized in Eastern Morocco

The judicial police elements of Saïdia and Oujda proceeded, on Saturday, December 21, 2019, to the arrest of five people for their links with an international drug and psychotropic trafficking network. This, thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The defendants, aged between 26 and 41, were arrested near the beach of Saïdia on board three utility vehicles transporting 17 packets of cannabis resin with a total quantity of approximately 555 kg as well as about 1470 liters of gasoline, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a statement.
The same source specifies that the police also seized nine mobile phones, a GPS device and an amount of money that could come from drug trafficking.
Pending the identification of any other possible accomplices and the determination of the links and ramifications of this network at the national and international levels, the five arrested persons have been taken into custody.
