Moroccan Police Officer Suspended After Harassment Allegation in Casablanca

The complaint of a woman who claims to have been a victim of harassment has led to the provisional suspension of a police officer, a member of a public security unit in Casablanca.
Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security, provisionally suspended a police sergeant suspected of being involved in a case of harassment of a woman on the Corniche of Aïn Diab. This sanction was taken after the agent was subjected to an investigation that took place under the supervision of the same judicial authority, and then presented to justice on Wednesday, January 23, according to the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).
The Casablanca police services had opened an investigation after a complaint filed by a woman. The latter accused the agent of harassment while he was on duty on the Corniche of Aïn Diab. In parallel with the judicial investigation, the decision to temporarily suspend the agent was taken.
The police officer will be presented at an upcoming session of the Disciplinary Council of the National Police, where a final decision regarding his professional status will be made.
