Fez Police Officer Suspended Amid Extortion Investigation

The Regional Directorate of the Judicial Police of Fez opened an investigation on Tuesday, December 3, against a police officer suspected of fraud, scam and extortion.
Several complaints have been filed against this policeman who would have taken advantage of his status to extort money from motorists in exchange for his silence on traffic violations.
The policeman is accused of having threatened the drivers with inflicting fines or sanctions on them if they did not pay him money.
The agent in question is currently being questioned by the justice system. The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has decided to suspend him from his duties pending the results of the investigation.
Disciplinary sanctions may be taken against him depending on the conclusions of the judicial investigation.
