Moroccan Police Officer Investigated for $360,000 Fuel Embezzlement Scheme in Casablanca

The General Directorate of National Security of Morocco has announced the opening of a judicial investigation concerning a police officer from the prefecture of Casablanca. The latter is suspected of having embezzled more than 4 million dirhams, or about 360,000 euros, to the detriment of a service station manager.
The case started with a complaint filed by the owner of a service station who had a contract with the Aïn Sebaâ police for the supply of fuel for their vehicles. He claimed not to have been paid for part of his services.
The investigation quickly highlighted the role of the police officer in charge of the vehicle fleet management. He would have cashed the payment vouchers intended for the complainant and turned them into cash with the complicity of an employee of another service station. This alleged accomplice is actively being sought by the authorities.
Placed in custody, the police officer is the subject of a judicial investigation to determine the extent of his actions and identify any possible accomplices. Pending the conclusions of the investigation, he has been suspended from his duties by the General Directorate of National Security.
