Moroccan Police Officer Arrested in Casablanca Bribery Scandal
A new case of corruption within the Moroccan police with the arrest in Casablanca of a police officer with the rank of brigadier for having received bribes.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates in a press release that it has opened an investigation following a complaint in which a plaintiff claims that the policeman demanded money from him so that he would intervene in his favor in a legal procedure.
"The person concerned was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to elucidate the ins and outs of this case," writes the DGSN.
Pending the conclusion of the investigation, the police officer has been suspended and he could be subject to administrative and disciplinary sanctions if the corruption is proven.
