Moroccan Police Inspector Arrested for Alleged Bribery in Taza

A new case of corruption within the Moroccan police with the arrest, once again in flagrante delicto, of a police officer, this time by the Taza brigade.

The details of this case are mentioned in a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) which indicates that a judicial investigation has been opened against a police officer, with the rank of inspector, for his alleged involvement in a case of corruption.

The police officer was arrested while receiving money from a man to whom he had promised to intervene in a case involving his brother.

The inspector was placed in custody for the purposes of the investigation and disciplinary sanctions that could go as far as dismissal could be taken against him when he appears before the disciplinary board.

Since the arrival of Abdellatif Hammouchi at the head of the DGSN, several dozen police officers of different ranks have been arrested, either in flagrante delicto or after a complaint from citizens. Severe sanctions have been taken against them, ranging from imprisonment to outright dismissal from the police force.
