Moroccan Police Officer Arrested for Alleged Corruption in Drug Case

A chief sergeant suspected of being involved in a corruption case was arrested in Rabat. A judicial investigation has been opened to verify the veracity of the criminal acts attributed to this police officer.
According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the policeman belongs to the research brigade of the judicial police in Salé.
He was arrested in the act while receiving money from a person who had already had legal troubles for drug and alcohol trafficking. The latter claimed to have been extorted by the same policeman.
The accused was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted by the public prosecutor’s office as part of this case, before being brought before the courts, according to the same source.
