Rabat Police Officer Arrested in Corruption and Blackmail Sting

A police officer was taken into custody at the disposal of the Rabat prosecutor’s office. He is suspected of involvement in a case of corruption and blackmail.
This police officer is the subject of a preliminary investigation opened on Friday by the regional judicial police service of Rabat. He had been arrested in flagrante delicto in possession of a sum of money received from the victim through blackmail, on the pretext that the latter had refused to carry out one of his duties, indicates a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The police officer is part of the anti-gang brigade under the provincial security of Salé.
