A police officer from the DGST was arrested on Sunday for his alleged involvement in a case of fraud and scam. The arrest was made by elements of the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The charges against the defendant are serious. He "usurped the identity of a member of the jury of the oral examination of the police access cycle and made his victims believe that he could intervene in their favor and charge them without charge in return," says the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
He was arrested in Rabat in the act, while receiving a sum of money from a victim, specifies the MAP, which stresses that another of his victims was questioned as part of the investigation opened by the competent prosecutor’s office.
Meanwhile, the police officer has been taken into custody, and the investigations continue in order to identify other victims of these criminal acts, the same source said.
