Marrakech Traffic Officer Arrested in Corruption Probe over Alleged Bribe

A judicial investigation has been opened against a peace officer for his alleged involvement in a corruption case by the prefectural service of the judicial police in the city of Marrakech.
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the police officer is suspected of having accepted a banknote from a road user in order not to fulfill one of his duties of regulating traffic and repressing offenses to the highway code in the city of Marrakech, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
A preliminary investigation has been opened to verify the acts attributed to the policeman and to determine the ins and outs of this case in order to present him before the competent prosecutor’s office.
