Moroccan Police Arrest Teen for Highway Robbery Scheme Near Casablanca

Elements of the police from the Anfa security district in Casablanca arrested a 19-year-old man. He is suspected of having placed stone barriers on the road to Azemmour in order to rob motorists.
Preliminary investigations revealed the modus operandi of the young man. According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspect and one of his accomplices placed stone barriers on the road to Azemmour, near Casablanca, in order to obstruct the circulation of a light vehicle and commit a theft against its driver, under threat of a bladed weapon.
The intervention of the police elements made it possible to identify the main suspect. He was arrested in Douar Hamdi, Casablanca. The police also seized the suspect’s bladed weapon.
For now, the suspect has been taken into custody for the continuation of the investigation. The police are also continuing the search to arrest the already identified accomplice.
