Moroccan PhD Student to Present HIV Research at Global "3-Minute Thesis" Competition

Moroccan doctoral student from the Mohammed V University of Rabat, Azzeddine Annan will participate in the international final of the "My Thesis in 180 Seconds" competition, which will be held on September 26 in Senegal.
Within a time limit of three minutes, he will have to convince an international jury by presenting his thesis on the "National Mapping of Primary HIV Resistance to Antiretrovirals". He will be alongside 17 other French-speaking doctoral students.
It all started last July when the academic was awarded the jury’s first prize and the public’s prize for winning the national final of this international French-speaking competition.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Azzedine Annan reflected on the motivations that prompted him to take part in the competition this year. According to his words, it was by following the competition on television last year that he had the click, promising himself to win at least the public’s prize.
"The secret is to know that true generosity towards the future lies in giving everything to the present," he wrote, inviting the public to support him on September 26.
The competition, according to the MAP, is now organized by an International Committee composed of ACFAS in Quebec, the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the Conference of University Presidents (CPU) in France, the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), the Mohammed V University of Rabat, the University of Liège in Belgium, the University Conference of Western Switzerland (CUSO) and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
