Moroccan Student Advances to Final of $3 Million Arab Reading Challenge in Dubai

The Moroccan representative in the "Arab Reading Challenge" in Dubai has just qualified for the final round of this competition to promote the Arabic language, which is in its 4th edition this year. The final will take place next Wednesday.
Five candidates, including the Moroccan, are still in the running for the final phase of this competition, which will deliver its verdict next Wednesday. A student at the Lycée Cadi Ayyad in Tetouan, Fatimazahra Akhiar represents Morocco after winning the National Reading Competition.
Launched in 2016, the "Arab Reading Challenge" is worth a prize of 11 million Emirati dirhams, or about 3 million dollars.
The 2019 edition saw a record participation of more than 13.5 million students from 49 countries and more than 62,000 schools, under the supervision of 113,000 teachers.
The Moroccan Meryem Lahcen Amjoune had won the 2018 title and Morocco is still counting on its current representative to win the first prize.
