Madonna doesn’t want to "leave" Morocco anymore
Singer Madonna has posted a message of attachment to Morocco on her Instagram account, stating that she cannot "leave" the country. Currently on an extended stay, the artist is documenting her visits to Fez, Marrakech and Agafay, offering a global exposure to the national heritage.
The message "Morocco... I can’t let go of you!" accompanies a series of photos illustrating her immersion in Moroccan culture. Her posts, followed by millions of subscribers, highlight specific sites such as the El Attarine Madrasa in Fez or the craft stalls of the Marrakech medina.
For the 2026 New Year’s Eve, the artist stayed in the Agafay desert with her loved ones. She wore a creation by Moroccan designer Fadela El Gadi during an evening punctuated by Tbourida and Dakka Marrakchia performances.
The star’s journey also included a historical dimension with a visit to the Jewish cemetery in Fez and the discovery of Sufi chants at the Mnebhi Palace. In Marrakech, Madonna favored an approach focused on authenticity, photographing everyday scenes and local products rather than classic hotel infrastructures.
