Fès, Marrakech, Agafay: Madonna’s incredible VIP stay in Morocco
The "Queen of Pop" has once again chosen the Kingdom to celebrate the new year. After a spiritual stop in Fès and strolling through the medina of Marrakech, Madonna ended 2025 in apotheosis in the Agafay desert, surrounded by her children and dressed by a Moroccan designer.
Madonna and Morocco, it’s a love story that lasts. For the transition to 2026, the international star offered her subscribers a true postcard of Moroccan tourism. In the photos published on January 3, we discover the singer in the heart of the Agafay desert, accompanied by her companion Akeem Morris, her six children and the artistic director of Saint-Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello. Under the caption "Habibi, come alive... It’s 2026", the star appears wearing a sumptuous black cape designed by Moroccan designer Fadela El Gadi.
The New Year’s Eve evening was a total immersion in the local culture at the "Le Bédouin" camp. Far from stuffy evenings, the Madonna clan enjoyed a dinner under a caidal tent, punctuated by a Tbourida show and the percussion of the Dakka Marrakchia from the Haj Abdelouahed Bola Bola group. The singer clearly appreciated this festive and authentic atmosphere, extending the magic late into the night under the stars.
Before this stage in the desert, the interpreter of "Like a Prayer" had started her journey with a spiritual visit to Fès. She explored the El Attarine madrasa and the Jewish cemetery there, before attending Sufi chants at the Mnebhi Palace. Back in Marrakech, she was spotted strolling through the souks, posing in front of stalls of babouches and even stopping to photograph a jersey of Achraf Hakimi, confirming her particular attachment to this country where she had already celebrated her 60th birthday in style.
