With a score of 28.71, the Moroccan passport ranks 128th out of 199 countries in the Passport Index of the most powerful passports by VisaGuide, in December 2023. Moroccan citizens can visit 38 countries in the world without a visa. 30 other countries issue electronic visas (eVisa) to holders of the Moroccan passport. Spain has the most powerful passport in the world. It tops the index with a score of 90.36 in December 2023. The Singaporean passport ranks 2nd. It is followed respectively by the German, Italian and French passports.
The World Passport Index established by VisaGuide is based on a ranking system that evaluates the passports of 199 countries based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. To compile its ranking, VisaGuide assigns a value called the Destination Significance Score (DSS) to each destination based on the entry policy it applies to the passport, GDP, power index, tourism index and human development index (HDI), etc. The DSS is then multiplied by the visa obligation value of the destination country for the selected passport holders.
