Moroccan Passport Ranks 71st Globally, Offers Visa-Free Access to 71 Countries in 2024

How many destinations can the Moroccan passport allow its holders to discover without a visa? Here is its position in a new ranking of the most (and least) powerful passports for travel in 2024.
Morocco, Tunisia and Zambia share 71st place in the ranking of the most (and least) powerful passports for travel in 2024, established by the British investment migration consultancy firm Henley & Partners. The Moroccan, Tunisian and Zambian passports allow their holders to visit 71 countries without a visa out of the 227 listed worldwide. France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and Singapore share first place. Nationals of these six countries can visit 194 countries without a visa. South Korea, Finland and Sweden are in second place with visa-free access to 193 destinations. Austria, Denmark, Ireland and the Netherlands share third place with access to 192 destinations. Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal and the United Kingdom then follow, with access to 191 visa-free destinations. Greece, Malta and Switzerland complete the top 5. Their nationals have the ability to visit 190 destinations without a visa. Afghanistan holds the lantern rouge. Its passport ranks 104th (last place) in the ranking and allows its holder to visit 28 countries without a visa.
The 2024 global ranking of the British investment migration consultancy firm Henley & Partners is based on exclusive and official data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, Chairman of Henley & Partners and creator of the Passport Index concept, observes that while the overall trend over the 19-year history of the ranking has been towards greater travel freedom, the gap in global mobility between those at the top and bottom of the ranking is now wider than ever. "The average number of destinations travelers can access visa-free has almost doubled, from 58 in 2006 to 111 in 2024. However, as we enter the new year, the top-ranked countries can now access an impressive 166 additional destinations visa-free, compared to Afghanistan at the bottom of the ranking, which has access to only 28 visa-free countries," he details.
