Moroccan Passport Climbs Global Ranking, Grants Visa-Free Access to 77 Countries

The Moroccan passport is among the most powerful in the world, according to the Henley Passport Index ranking.
The Moroccan passport has gained two places in this ranking compared to last year, taking the 72nd position. Holders of the Moroccan passport can travel to 77 countries in the world without a visa, the ranking indicates, noting that Thailand, Cape Verde and Azerbaijan are now part of the list of visa-exempt countries by Morocco.
In addition to the 77 countries where they can travel without a visa, Moroccan nationals also have the possibility of visiting 4 countries by benefiting from an electronic travel authorization (AVE). However, obtaining a visa remains mandatory for 117 countries, specifies Henley Passport Index which has assigned the Moroccan passport a mobility score of 81 and an overall mobility rate of 41%.
In terms of mobility, Morocco slightly outperforms Tunisia, Mauritania and Algeria. Globally, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, are at the top with 194 visa-exempt destinations out of the 227 taken into account in the ranking. The Henley Passport Index makes a comparison between 199 passports and 227 destinations in the world.
