The daughter of the former Minister of Sports and Olympic champion, Nawal El Moutawakil, is at the heart of a controversy that is growing increasingly.
Zineb Bennis, a 27-year-old visual artist, has strongly attacked Morocco and its political leaders in reaction to the culling of stray dogs in Dar Bouazza, near Casablanca.
In commenting on her own video of the slaughter, she said "I apologize for these shocking images", adding that "in this fucking country, there is no respect for humans or for dogs".
