Two civil servants have been arrested and detained in the local prison in Safi. They are accused of falsifying a certificate of celibacy.
The document allowed its beneficiary, already in a relationship, to take a second wife, reports Al Massae. The alert was given to the police elements of Youssoufia by the first woman. After discovering the deception, she filed a complaint against her husband who was arrested. The investigations revealed that he had obtained a fake certificate of celibacy in order to remarry.
The accused confessed and admitted the facts against him. According to him, the fake certificate was issued to him by two officials from the El kantour Sidi Ahmed commune, in the province of Youssoufia, and another from the municipality of Youssoufia, for the modest sum of 1,000 DH.
