Moroccan National Team: Walid Regragui increasingly contested

The Moroccan national football team conceded another goalless draw against Mauritania, reviving criticism against coach Walid Regragui and even calls for his departure.
On social media, internet users have strongly criticized the lack of a game system and vision of the Moroccan technician.
Walid Regragui, the hero of the 2022 World Cup, has become, for some supporters, public enemy number one after the "mediocre" performances of his players in the friendlies against Angola (1-0) and Mauritania (0-0).
Offensive inefficiency, lack of creativity, predictable strategy, the grievances against Regragui are numerous. His explanations on "the adaptation time" of the new players no longer convince anyone.
"We are not happy, we are not at the level. There are many new players, it takes time to adapt. It will take time to find solutions to improve our efficiency in front," he said after the fiasco against Mauritania.
"Walid Regragui is playing the best eleven in Agadir with good weather and a good atmosphere. If one of the players doesn’t perform an individual exploit, we don’t even hit the post. This is a preview of the next CAN with Walid Regragui," says an internet user.
Some internet users are calling for the return of Hervé Renard, while others believe that Vahid Halilhodzic did better against teams like Mauritania.
"I didn’t think I’d say this one day, but Vahid was winning this kind of match by 3 goals with Mmaee Kaabi up front," can be read on X.
To recall, the Moroccan coach led Morocco to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, a historic achievement. But after the failure at the 2023 CAN and the recent poor performances, the patience of the supporters seems to have reached its limits.
