Moroccan Mother with Mental Health Issues Accused of Attempted Filicide in Spain

The Moroccan woman who tried to kill her three children in Fitero (Navarre) would suffer from mental disorders, according to her husband.
The father of the three children, the youngest of whom is still in intensive care at the hospital but out of danger, confirmed to Antena 3 Noticias that their mother suffers from mental health problems. The man, still in shock, says he does not understand what happened. The family had planned to go to Morocco at the end of July.
The facts occurred last Thursday. The mother tried to poison her children aged 9, 5 and 3 years old. Having failed, she started stabbing them. The two older ones were able to escape. A neighbor alerted the Civil Guard, who quickly dispatched a patrol to the scene where the three children were found injured.
The mother, seriously injured after attempting suicide, was also admitted to a hospital. Her room is guarded by civil guards. The municipal council condemned the act and expressed its support for the family.
