Moroccan Midfielder Amir Richardson Joins Fiorentina, Cites Amrabat’s Influence

Moroccan international Amir Richardson has officially joined Fiorentina. During his presentation on Tuesday at the Viola Park press room, the Atlas Lion revealed that he accepted to join the Italian club on the advice of his compatriot Sofyan Amrabat.
Amir Richardson said that Sofyan Amrabat encouraged him to join Fiorentina. "Of course, I talked to Sofyan before coming here. He advised me to come here, telling me that it’s a wonderful club to take a step forward and get good results." When asked about Sofyan Amrabat’s future, he stated that "it’s up to him to decide whether he stays or not, but he spoke very well of Fiorentina."
The Atlas Lion assured that he does not regret his choice to join the Viola, which he considers a "great club". "I have to give everything I have for this jersey by trying to do my best," he added. The midfielder also revealed having "admiration" for the French player Paul Pogba. "Pogba is a great player, of great quality. I think I have a rather similar profile [...]; I try to learn from him. I try to learn from him, as well as from other great players."
Richardson hopes "to stay as long as possible with Fiorentina" and "to go as far as possible in Europe and do very well in Serie A." "I don’t set any limits for myself, I want to score a lot of goals and improve in every phase of the game," affirmed the scorer against Iraq in the group stage of the Olympic football tournament. The Moroccan midfielder says he is ready to play in attack or defense in his new club, specifying however that he has a preference for attack.
