Atalanta’s €12M Bid for Amrabat Falls Short as Fenerbahçe Eyes Zenit’s Wendel

While it wishes to recruit the Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat from Fenerbahçe, an Italian club is struggling to meet the demands set by the Turkish club.
The financial offer presented by the Italian club Atalanta, to acquire the services of Sofyan Amrabat, estimated at 12 million euros, is far from meeting the expectations of Fenerbahçe. The Turkish club is demanding an amount of at least 15 million euros to let its midfielder go. At the same time, Fenerbahçe has entered into direct negotiations with the Russian club Zenit Saint-Petersburg to recruit the Brazilian midfielder Wendel, as a potential replacement for the Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat.
Amrabat arrived at Fenerbahçe last summer on loan from the Italian Fiorentina. In early June last year, the Istanbul club activated the mandatory purchase clause for an amount of 12 million euros. But the performances of the Atlas Lion do not reassure them at all. They no longer intend to buy him permanently. In 39 matches in all competitions played this season under the orders of José Mourinho, the Atlas Lion has scored two goals and provided three assists. His contract with Fernerbahçe runs until the summer of 2028.
