Manchester United Eyes Adrien Rabiot as Midfield Priority Over Amrabat

While Manchester United has not yet made a final decision on the future of Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, it is already making French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, officially free since June 30, a priority.
Back from a loan spell at Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat still doesn’t know if Manchester United will end up signing him. A semi-finalist in the last World Cup, he joined Manchester United at the end of the summer transfer window on loan from ACF Fiorentina until June 2024 for a fee of 10 million euros with a purchase option of 21.5 million pounds. He has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford. He has played 30 games with the Red Devils, and it was only at the end of the season that he shone. The 27-year-old player notably contributed to the English club’s victory in the FA Cup final - his passing accuracy was 93 percent.
While Manchester United still holds the option to buy the Atlas Lion (25 million euros) from his Italian club, Fiorentina, he has not yet been decisive, explains Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth. For now, the English club’s officials are interested in the now former Juventus midfielder, Adrien Rabiot. Last summer, they had already wanted to recruit the French international, but the negotiations between the player’s mother and the Mancunian club did not succeed due to Véronique Rabiot’s too high demands. She would have demanded a three-year contract with an annual net salary of ten million euros per season, accompanied by a signing bonus of the order of ten million euros as well.
