Manchester United Eyes Permanent Deal for Amrabat, Seeks New Terms with Fiorentina

Manchester United has not definitively turned the page on Sofyan Amrabat. The English club still wants to recruit the Moroccan international, but on one condition.

Will Sofyan Amrabat remain at Old Trafford after the end of his loan? Manchester United would like to definitively sign the Moroccan international, but on one condition, reports Mail Online. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils included a £16.8 million purchase option in the initial agreement with Fiorentina that they decided not to use. The profile of the Moroccan midfielder still interests Erik ten Hag, and the English club is ready to discuss different terms with the Serie A club in the hope of reaching an agreement on a permanent transfer.

A semi-finalist in the last World Cup, he joined Manchester United at the end of the summer transfer window on loan from ACF Fiorentina until June 2024 for a fee of 10 million euros with a purchase option of 21.5 million pounds. He struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford. He played 30 games with the Red Devils, and it was only at the end of the season that he shone. The 27-year-old player notably contributed to the club’s victory in the FA Cup final - his passing accuracy was 93 percent.

The wish of the Atlas Lion is to stay at Old Trafford. "Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No, we’ll talk. Staying is certainly an option," he said in May to Ziggo Sport. He added: "Listen, I think it’s been a very difficult season. For Manchester United, it has to be much better, and also for me personally. We’ll talk. [...] Manchester United is the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here? But all parties have to be satisfied with each other, that’s why we’re going to sit down now and see what happens."
