Mazraoui Fulfills Premier League Dream with Manchester United Move

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui expresses his pride in joining Manchester United and measures the immensity of the task he must accomplish at Old Trafford.

"I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League, but being part of Manchester United is a dream I could never have imagined. Joining Manchester United was not an idea I had in mind, but it has become a reality, after growing up in the Netherlands and representing another great club like Bayern Munich over the past two seasons," rejoices Noussair Mazraoui in an interview with the English club’s official website.

The Moroccan international measures the immensity of the task he must accomplish at Old Trafford: "Integrating a new team and the responsibilities that come with it are not easy. I only trained twice with my new teammates before facing Fulham. Of course, I knew them by watching the matches on TV, but I didn’t know how to play with them." He says he is proud of what he has accomplished so far, and thinks that the Red Devils’ coach, Erik ten Hag, is also satisfied with his performance.

So far, the 26-year-old player has played five games with Manchester United. He provided an assist in the match against Brighton & Hove Albion as part of the second matchday of the 2024-2025 Premier League season. He promises the supporters to do even more: "The supporters can expect even more from me, this is just the beginning. I think my performances will improve once I’m more acclimated to the team."

Noussair has started each of United’s first four Premier League matches this season, all at right-back. According to Manchester Evening News, he has shown promising signs early on, both defensively and offensively. "Yes, I was a midfielder at first, then I played almost every position in the second team. I played left winger in one game, then center-back in the next game," the former Ajax player confides. And to continue: "Playing in different positions has really helped me, now I feel comfortable in any position I play, because I’ve evolved pretty much everywhere, which has allowed me to adapt to any position I have to play, and I have no problem with that."

The Atlas Lion joined Manchester United on August 13 from Bayern Munich for four years plus one option year at the English club for a fee of 15 million euros paid to Bayern Munich. His contract with the English club runs until June 30, 2028. According to the Transfermarkt website, Noussair’s current market value is estimated at 30 million euros.
