Moroccan Man Jailed for Sexually Harassing Off-Duty Policewoman in Public

A man was sentenced to 4 months in prison, with a fine of 500 dirhams, by the Criminal Chamber of the Court of First Instance in Meknes, for sexual harassment in a public space.
The plaintiff is none other than a 39-year-old policewoman, who was approached on the street by an individual in his car, as she was returning home with her two children.
Faced with the persistence of her harasser, the police officer did not hesitate to use her smartphone to take a photo of the license plate of his car, forcing him to flee.
According to the daily Assabah, a simple check of the number with the vehicle registration center allowed the victim to identify the harasser and file a complaint for harassment with the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Result: 4 months in prison!
